((Note: this is the back ground story of the dragon kingdom this is mainly about Bakuns father and what happend to him))

One day in the kingdom of Dragon spear the king Dragonus who was a man about 6’2” he was strong and was built like an ox with short spiky red hair and he had emerald green eyes that seemed to pierce the soul. he had several scars over his body from years of war and battle he always had a stern look on his face and was serous a lot of the time, he was a good king and strong leader but he could be gently and caring when the time called for it. He wore light armor that was black with red trim around the edges and outlines. It hade the symbol of the dragon kingdom on the breast plate and shoulders, he had no helmet and no shield, he carried two swords with him a long sword that was perched on his back, and a short sword that was attached to his side.

He was out riding his horse making his daily run for fun when he came upon a village. The village was small and only had about two dozen people in it he rode up and then when he came into the village. It was quiet and seemed abandoned. Well he rode threw this village often but never really stopped before but it always was filled with children and adults running around. But today it was empty. He called out for any one to respond. All he herd was dead silence. He dismounted his horse and walked beside him examining his surrounding carefully. There was no sign of any struggle or of some battle that may have happened. It’s like every one left on there own free will. Well he walked up to a large house. It was two stories tall and had a nice fence around it. It belonged to the chief of the town and when Dragonus walked inside the house he herd some one whimpering. He as he walked down a dark hall way towards the sound of the whimpering he came to a door at the end of the hallway. He put his hand on the doorknob and gently opened it. The door creaked as it opened sending an eerie chill up Dragonuses spine. The door opened to a small room with not much in it except for a small bed, a dresser and a closet. The whimpering was coming from the closet. He walked over to the closet and when he pulled back the curtain there were two children hiding. As the children saw Dragonuses massive figure they screamed in fear but he quickly combed them down by telling them he was hear to help them. He asked them what happened to all the people and the children explained

Younger Child: “it was horrible; they were monsters, monsters from the shadows”
Dragonus: “ok what do you mean by monsters from the shadows?”
Older child: “well they were wolf like monsters that came out of the shadows and then started Grabbing people and dragging them back into the shadows and then they vanished. They kept coming until every one was gone. Except for me and my little sister”

Dragonus nodded as he understood what the children where telling him. He knew what these things where because he has dealt with them before. Dragonus stood up and looked around as he heard the sound of growling dogs and he told the children to stay in the closet. Dragonus walked out side and he came face to face with five black wolves that had dark red eyes that seemed to hold the screams of all the victims they had claimed. They stood four foot tall and about seven feet long. Dragonus reached his hand back towards the hilt of his sword that was perched on his back. As he placed one hand on his back he did not draw his sword he simple kept his hand on the hilt of his sword waiting for the wolves to make there first move. The wolves crept closer, there fur waved in the wind as all was quit, the only sound that was heard was the wolves’ hard breathing. One wolf moved ahead of the pack. Walking in a cercal around Dragonus, the wolf stopped for a moment on the right side of Dragonus, the wolf then lunged its self at Dragonus. Dragonus simply stepped back and as the wolf flew past him Dragonus cleaved him in half. He turned and faced the other wolves with a grin on his face. The wolves growled in anger at there fallen brother then two of the wolves closest to Dragonus ran wide around him in either direction as they stopped they where in back of Dragonus. The last two wolves crept in from the front. The wolves only took one leap in the air as all four came down upon Dragonus there fangs drooling with saliva, there claws sharp and deadly shined in the sunlight. With quick movement that seemed inhuman, Dragonus quick launched himself in the air above the pouncing wolves, as the wolves collided in mid air and fell to the ground in a pile Dragonus came down upon them. They struggled to get away but it was too late. Dragonus implied them each as he came down. His sword stuck into the dirt as blood slowly seeped into the earth below.

Before Dragonus replaced his sword on his back he whipped the blood off on the fur of the wolves he had just killed. He walked back into the house where the two children were. He walked up the stairs to the room they were in and he knelt down beside them. He said to them that they needed to leave. He told them that he would take them to his kingdom. The older one nodded and she helped her little brother up. The older of the two siblings was a young girl about the age of 15 with long blue hair. The younger of the two was a boy about the age of 8 with short spiky black hair. As they walked out side, Dragonus called for his horse. And as the horse came running Dragonus picked up both the girl and the boy at the same time lifting them up on the horse. To them the horse was huge. The horse stood over 6 feet tall it was black with white hair. Its eyes were soil brown. Dragonus had no trouble hitching him self up on his horse. Even if the horse was only a few inches shorter than him. He pulled on the rains and the horse turned around and the he galloped off heading home with two new family members.

As Dragonus galloped across a large plain, seemingly endless ocean of grass. There wasn’t a tree for miles not even any bushes, just grass, grass that went on forever. There were no people living hear in the sea of grass. The only creatures that could survive out hear were small animals and those that could dig. Dragonus and his two new companions were moving quickly on the back of Dragonuses mighty horse. They were moving at nearly fifty miles an hour. The children held on tight to Dragonus so that they would not fall off at this speed. The ground started to rumble, Dragonus knew what this was from but the children started to freak out. They started to scream and holler and Dragonus just turned his head and smiled as he said “Don’t worry…everything is alright…that rumbling happens all the time” the children calmed down until the rumbling turned into a loud crash behind them. As they looked back they spotted a giant worm launching itself out of the ground reaching 40 feet in the air before diving back down into the ground. As they ran the worm kept fallowing them hoping to get a meal. It jumped out of the ground like a fish would out of water. It was at least 40 feet long and about 10 wide. It was moving almost as fast as there horse was; they were desperately trying to escape the giant worm. As it drew closer they could now see into its massive mouth. There were millions of teeth lining the mouth. It got to the point were the children could now feel the breath of the beast on the back of there necks. The worm took one last leap into the air the shadow engulfed the horse and its riders just as the teeth were about to swallow them whole a roar came form in front of them as the sound of huge flapping wings could be heard. As the children looked forward they saw a creature they have never seen before. It was about 20 feet long from head to tail. It had golden yellow scales over most of its body it had four legs each with massive claws on them. The front two legs had five claws and the rear legs only had three. The head was slender and long with rows of sharp teeth. The eyes were red and slited and they seemed to contain a fire inside them. The neck was long and the body skinny for its size. It had two massive golden wings that stretched 20 each; the wings reminded them of the wings of a bat the way it moved as they flapped in the wind. And the tail was long and slender with two spikes jetting out the very end. There was one row of spine spikes that flowed along its back from the back of its head to the tip of the tail. It also had two large horns on its head, the horns matched each other identically and seemed to curve and bend like poorly build stairs. As this creature flew over head it slammed into the worm sending it flying back crashing on the ground. The worm rolled a bit and when it came to a stop the giant flying creature latched on to the worm with its massive claws. The creature took a deep breath its chest bulging out, and as it released the breath it had just took an intense roaring flame came from its mouth.

The worm screeched in pain as it laid there burring to death. As the now blackened corps of the once mighty worm lay siring on the field, the creature that killed it jumped up in the air and then spread its wings and started to fly again. It flew much slower this time as it turned and eyed the horse and riders. It then came up behind them. The children started to panic as Dragonus smiled and said to the children “don’t worry…this guys with me” the young girl asked while still shaking in fear “b…but what is it” Dragonus turned his head and responded “well it’s a dragon…and his name is Giliad…and he’s one of my closest friends” Giliad the massive golden dragon flew beside the horse and its riders as a guardian against any other hungry worms. But they didn’t need to worry about worm’s bothering them for as they looked back they could see more colossus worms feasting upon the burnt corps of there relative.
As they reached the center of the grass ocean, they came upon a wall. A large wall it towered one hundred feet high, that was a fifty feet thick and had a spell on it that would stop any one from passing unwanted. Dragonus and his two companions road up to a large steel gate that was like prison bars except thicker. The bared gate could be razed at will and as Dragonus road up to the massive gate there where several knights stationed as guards. As they saw Dragonus they new right away who he was, one of the guards yelled out “open the gate! The king has returned!” the gate began to rise with a loud screeching sound of metal along cement and stone. They did not raise it all the way for it would have served no purpose to do such a feet. The gate was difficult to raze and took a knight in full dragon form just to have the strength to do so. That is why there is always at least one dragon stationed at the walls gate to raze it. Dragonus nodded to the knights as they stood at attention. But they did not do this because Dragonus asked them to they did this out of a sign of respect for there king. Because in the dragon kingdom you did not become king because of your blood and family or election, you became king because you are the strongest in the land. Dragonus did not become king because of his father or he wasn’t elected. He became king because he defeated the last king in battle and by tradition Dragonuses prize was the kingdom, even though at the time he did not know that the kingdom was his prize. The last king had tricked him in a way. Dragonus was the strongest around and his knights knew this, but they did not loath or resent the king. They admired him and aspired to become as strong as him.
Dragonus was a good king. He was kind, strong, and caring; he loved his people and the land witch he watched over he took care of them. And defended them with his very life, although the dragon kingdom had not had an attack on there home land since the worms moved in, many armies have tried to make the long journey to the kingdom over the 50 mile span of grass on either side of the main city and the great dragon wall, but all failed do to the worms. The worms would devour most of the military solders and by time they got to the wall they had not the strength to make it threw the wall that awaited them. So after a time many just gave up on there dreams of dominating the dragon kingdom and left them at peace. With Dragonus at the thrown there where no wars fought, or any battles to be done unless one of his allies needed help. Dragonus thought that the kingdom was doing fine the way they where now. There where prosperous and where self sustained. They grew there own food and had plenty of space for them to live so Dragonus was content on how things where going.

As Dragonus and his companions walked down a stone path that lead from the gate to the main part of the city and eventually into the castle itself, the children smiled and there eyes lit up at the wonders they where witnessing for the first time in there lives. It was un common for human children to witness the kingdom of the dragons since most could not make the trip with out a dragon guard. And only wealthy people had the money to higher a guard. So most of the lower class and poor people did not get the opportunity to be heard, unless summoned. As for the citizens living inside the city, over 80 percent of them where dragons in there human form.
The dragons lived day to day in there human form because the human form was a marvelous design in life. There where small and could get to places easier, sure the dragon form was strong and powerful but the lack of thumbs made building and the growing of food difficult and when farming many accidents would happen, for example the occasional crop fire would burn away the years growing season. But in the days of peace less and less dragons staid in there dragon forms and concentrated on building and farming.
As Dragonus and the children came up to the kings horse stables. Dragonus dismounted and then helped the little ones down. The stables them selves where much larger than normal horse stables found in other places around the world. The dragon kingdom took pride in there horse companions. Not only that but most horses where as valuable as any soldier, for the fact that the horses in the dragon kingdom where demonic, and had powers beyond any normal steed. Dragonus patted the side of the massive horses head as he says “you did well today Hego… I am very proud of you my friend” Hego the horse nodded.

Dragonus walked over to the children and kneeled down “now young ones…you are safe hear in the castle with me” the youngest boy walked up to him and looked up into his eyes “well we don’t have a home any more mister…is this our new home” Dragonus smiled and nodded “yes this is you new home…umm…you know what little ones I never got your names” the older sister with the long blue hair walked up “well my name is Mayu and this is my little brother Maiku” the boy smiled as he looked up at Dragonus. The thought to himself that these two where very brave to have smiles on there faces after something like that. Losing every thing they new and loved. He felt sorry for them. But he was going to take care of them now. He stood as he put his hand on the young boys head “you know Maiku…I have a son about your age…would you like to meet him” Maiku nodded in joy as Dragonus smiled “well then fallow me and we will go see them”

As Dragonus lead the little one into the castle sever maids and servants ran around cleaning and getting things for the higher ups. The three of them walked down hallway after hall way and it would seem like they where lost but the maze of corridors and hallways was easy to navigate for Dragonus for he had done it so many times. As they finally reached a dead in hallway with two large double doors at the end with gold frame and massive red wooden doors Dragonus smiled as he walked up and put his hand on the handle he looked back at the two children “ok you two…this is my room where my queen and my son are” he then pulled on both doors swinging them open. He did not have to open both the doors where big enough he just did this for dramatic effect for the kids and his son.

A young boy about the age of ten was sitting on a large bead next to a woman with long brown hair the boy had short dark red hair that was a lot like his fathers hair. The boys name is Bakun. He had an innocent young look on his face very happy look. He seemed as though he wanted to play and have fun. Bakun ran up to his father and hugged him as he looked around Dragonuses legs to see the young girl and boy. He smiled as he walked up to Maiku and said “hey there…my name is Bakun what’s yours” maiku nervously said as he walked up “umm…my name is maiku…nice to meet you Bakun” Bakun smiled as he looked at the girl. Mayu scared him a bit. Not because of the ways she looked or acted. It was simply because she was a woman. Bakun ran behind his dad as Dragonus chuckled lightly as he patted Bakun on the head and went to greet his wife.

Later that night maiku and Bakun where playing out in the court yard. Chasing one another like they had been friends for year. They played and laughed like nothing was wrong in the world. But that laughter would soon stop for in the distance on the great grass plains things where not so peaceful the sound of a large army of thousands of soldiers came matching towards the Dragon kingdom. This army was full of all manors of creatures. From full blooded humans to full blooded dark dragons. This army gave off an evil aura that even drove off the worms. The mere sight of this force would strike fear in the hearts of common men. Bakun stopped and looked around as he heard the chants of the enemy slowly approaching maiku could not hear these yet for he was merely human and Bakun had the ears of a dragon. Soldiers of the kingdom started to gather and form ranks as they rushed to the kingdom gate. Maiku began to get worried as he ran to Bakun. “Bakun what is going on?” Bakun quickly hushed maiku as Dragonus came running up “there you kids are quickly we must get you to the castle and to your mothers hand” Dragonus quickly pushed them along heading back towards the castle. They ran up the stairs and into Bakuns mother’s room as Dragonus started to talk with his wife explaining what was going on. She sighed as Bakun and maiku talked Bakun said “maiku…there’s an enemy coming…and we got to stay with my mom until my dad comes back” maiku began to shake a bit as he began to get scared “they aren’t going to hurt us will they” Dragonus over hearing this knelt down and put his hands on the boys heads “no boys…I wont let those bad people hurt you…I swear this” he stood and kissed his wife….not knowing this would be the last kiss he ever gave her. He turned and ran down the hall as Bakun waved “good luck dad” Dragonus heard this and smiled as he disappeared around the corner.

Dragonus raced threw the hallways of his castle ready to face the enemy that comes to his home. Giliad Dragonus knight comes running up beside him his long golden hair flowing behind him as he ran. He looked towards Dragonus as he smiled “it’s about time we had some action. I was beginning to get board” Dragonus chuckled as they exited the castle building and in a flash blood red dragon wings came out of Dragonuses back. They where seven foot long from the tip of the wing to his back five foot from top to bottom. As Dragonus lifted in the air golden wings similar to Dragonuses came out of Giliad as they both took off towards the gate where the rest of the dragon knights had gathered.

For most dragons the half human half dragon form that Giliad and Dragonus where now in was impossible to do. But Dragonus and Giliad where now at the level where they evolved past ordinary dragons and became demonic dragon. Only the demonic dragon species could go half human half dragon. The DD state as it was called was a step up from regular dragon form.

As Giliad and Dragonus reached the gate the fighting had already started soldiers of both armies where dieing left and right. But the enemy forces where quickly over powering the Dragonuses military. Never before has the Dragon kingdom seen such an on slot.
The fighting waged on for a good hour as Dragonus looked to Giliad who was now covered in the blood of demons humans and dragon alike as he said to him “Giliad! This is a losing battle and we both no it!” Giliad ran over to Dragonus “yes I know sir but what are we going to do…should we retreat back into the walls of the kingdom” Dragonus shook his head “no Giliad that would leave our citizens vulnerable when theses soldiers broke threw… Giliad I want you to gather a platoon of Dragons and get the people out of hear. Gather at least a 100 Dragons and then split them up among the people to get them safely away from hear” Giliad nodded as he turned to head to the castle gate as Dragonus grabbed his shoulder “and Giliad my friend…can you watch over my family…your like a brother to me…would you please do that for me” Giliad smiled as he nodded “of course ill look over them Dragonus…ill keep them safe you have my word” Dragonus let go of Giliads shoulder as he ran off the castle along with a hundred soldiers.

Giliad got to the room where Dragonuses family was and they gathered a few light things up. Some cloths, anything truly personal and then headed out side where Dragonuses steed Hego was waiting its little masters and the mistress queen. Giliad helped them up on the horse as they strapped there belongings to the sides of Hego as Giliad nodded his head and Hego started to ride. Giliad fallowed shortly after that as there guardian.

People where fleeing in all directions to escape the death that surly awaited them if they staid. Giliad and the others where about 20 miles out now as he looked back seeing the kingdom now in flames Giliad sighed as he stopped for a moment. Hego did the same as they watched the castle burning. Thoughts raced threw Giliads mind. Was the king safe, did the people make it out ok? But what Giliad didn’t know is that this was the last time he would ever see his close friend and his kingdom. Giliad turned slowly walking past Hego as looked for a moment more then slowly turned and began to head off into a new life.
